Report of “Research Methods in Social Science from Research Proposal to Thesis writing”8th Sep 2017 to 14th Sep 2017
Workshop is sponsored by ICSSR, WRC, Mumbai.
Total 28 participants were benefitted with this workshop. Concept note was given by Dr. Chayya Panse, Vice Principal and Convener of the workshop.
Inauguration & Keynote Address was given by Dr. Dolly Sunny, Hon.Director, ICSSR, WRC, Mumbai.
Trends of Research in Social Science: Problem & Selection taken by Dr. Vivek Patkar,
Dr. Shobhna Vasudevan, Principal, Podar College   discussed Mixed Method Research
Quantitative research methods taught by Dr Indira Shukla Principal, Gohkale College of Education & Research, Parel.
How to avoid Plagiarism in Thesis/Report & Copyright policy was well explained by  Dr Allan D’Souza, Vice Principal- Khalsa College.
Dr Kishore J. Maru,BPCA’s College of Physical Education,Wadala  gave clarity on Formulation & Concept of Hypothesis ; Hypothesis testing & Qualitative approach
Mrs. Vasumati Sriganesh, QMed Knowledge foundation showed various examples of Online Resources & Databases used in Social Science Research
Dr Sybil Thomas, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Education, University of Mumbai took two sessions on Qualitative Research Methods .
Dr. Madhukar Dalvi, Dept of Commerce, Nagindas Khandwala College explained well on Sampling Technique &Tools of data collection. He also took session on Data Analysis using megastat in excel which will be useful during data analysis.
Rtd.Prof. Milan Gholba, Dept of Statistics, B.N. Bandodkar College gave insight details of Statistical Research & Tools used in Research.
Dr. Anjali Kale, Asst Librarian, University of Mumbai took hands on practical session on Citation style, Style of References and Bibliography using Zotero
Dr. Raju Lohot, Asst Prof. Mithibai College & Dr Shilpa Khare, HOD Statistics Dept. M.D.College took three sessions on Data Analysis using “R” Software.
Dr.Payal Tiwari & Dr.Sunil Gangavane, Research facilitators of PUKAR Team showed PUKARs CBPAR model as case study.
An Online Session via Skype was arranged on Principles of Effective Writing by Dr.Kristin Sainani, Associate Professor with Health Research and Policy at Stanford University.
Dr Vinita Jain,Librarian M.D.College showed some useful online resources and how to insert table of contents, tables  and figures during thesis writing.
Participants were enlightened at Valedictory address given by Dr.Ms.T.P.Ghule, Principal M.D.College.
